There are a lot of articles that look at managers and entrepreneurs. Most of them focus on the differences between these two types when it comes to responsibilities, risk taking or involvement. Can entrepreneurs develop their management abilities? Are they willing to do it?
Through "Nextep Entrepreneur" we wanted to prove that a successful entrepreneur can, in time, become a successful CEO that knows how to develop and implement key management abilities. Abilities that are more than necessary when the organization reaches a certain level of development.
It's obvious that preparation is not a guarantee of success but it is an advantage in reaching your goals.
During the course of the three sessions of the program participants from various fields such as communication, manufacturing, construction, IT and industry had the chance to discover the link between organizational culture and the financial performance of the company. They learned how to develop abilities that facilitate the increase in performance of their top management team and the practicality of substituting a "command and control" style of leadership with one based on coaching and people development.
Entrepreneurial experience, although valuable, is not enough when it comes to ensuring positive results in your new management role.
When a company reaches a certain level, entrepreneurial culture is not enough to ensure productivity and efficiency. From a certain point the entrepreneur's charisma has to be replaced with a healthy organizational culture.
Nextep Entrepreneur is a program aimed at helping managers make the leap towards becoming a CEO by offering them the necessary instruments in order to develop a set of management systems adapted to a fast growing business.
