Although the notion of eLearning started to slowly appear ever since the 90's, education through the help of computers or information technology has only recently arrived in the Romanian environment. Even more, although at first the market was estimated at 38 billion euro, eLearning's jump into the spotlight has only taken place these past few years.
Reasons? The appearance of a concept named "blended learning" - a mix between education in a virtual space environment as well as One on One sessions, a mix that provides better results at the end of development processes and resonates with behavioral patterns offering both virtual "freedom" as well as a human touch.
Another reason for this increase is the integration of the Y generation at work places everywhere. Perhaps the first generation that is used, from a very early age, to find and learn information through the help of the Internet and PC.
Only a short while ago, have the blended learning techniques become to develop into an efficient solution - the same quality of training at lower costs- and even more, a friendly learning technique for the environment, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the individual involved in the educational process. With less money, fuel, paper and a greater degree of flexibility when it comes to scheduling, who wouldn't like a blended experience?
In Human Invest we started our year with a blended learning project aimed at developing leadership abilities. The Situational Leadership® II program was implemented in a large multinational corporation and it was comprised of: in-house session - 3 days; virtual learning session - 6 hours; One on One follow-up session - 1 day. Positive results have already been made and up till now it is one of the most resounding successes when it comes to implementation. Our partners at Blanchard International measured the impact of this type of program compared with in-house sessions or virtual learning sessions, taken separately: a 12% increase in the net productivity of participants' subordinates and even more a 60% increase in efficiency .
The eLearning version of our Situational Leadership® II course is unique on the Romanian market, pushing the barriers of virtual learning beyond animated slides to a truly virtual world, a world in which we are all first person managers, a sort of FPS (first person shooter) that takes place in the management world.
