Therefore, here are our 10 most important achievements of the past year:
1. Our company is truly a space designed for the development and growth of a group of very enthusiastic young people, part of a generation I don't understand that well! Working in a completely different style (with a smile on their face and relaxed, even when the only thing I saw around were problems that couldn't be fixed), they had an enormous contribution to an atmosphere that truly developed team work, innovation and a continuous desire to learn. In this past year these young people have earned the right to be taken seriously!
2. At the end of February, my colleague Rares Manolescu received "The best trainer of the year 2007" award, offered by Business-Edu, at the awards ceremony that they organized. It was a beautiful evening, emotional and a perfect crowning of Rares's 10 year activity as a trainer. Few people knew at that time, that Rares left the event in order to go to one of his projects at the other end of the country.
3. The national "Romanian HR Profile 2008" conducted by Corporate Dynamics and Business Edu, is one of the few existing studies that researches the Romanian HR market to such a high extent. This research showed that Human Invest was among the top three training suppliers in Romaniawhen it came to Brand Awareness! Our marketing team was extremely happy seeing that the efforts they had made that past year resulted in an increase in visibility and awareness, which would in turn support our company brand.
4. "Nextep: from specialist to manager" is one of our most valuable projects, its core target being middle management.The pilot edition started in 2007, and the success it received in 2008 encouraged us to keep going and try to make it become a program desired by any middle manager (at the end of February 2009, we will launch a third edition). This year, we will also launch a special edition dedicated to entrepreneurs"Nextep: from entrepreneur to CEO".Since its launch in 2007, the program managed to gather a group of very special people, participants, special guests or trainers. I take this opportunity to say thank you to my colleagues that supervise it with such passion and high degree of involvement!
5. Among the experiments we did in 2008 was the "Think Positive" conference, organized together with the Cariere magazine. It all started from a discussion we had in 2007, during a project. In a few months the idea was already on paper. We enjoyed the novelty of the event, and learned a lot about organizing conferences (because it was the first time when we had done anything like that), but bottom line - we considered this project a success due to the visibility it brought us.
6. When it comes to the quality of a company's brand, the practical value of the training programs it hasplays a key role. After the irrefutable success we had these past years with sessions like Situational Leadership® II (SLII), Situational Self Leadership (SSL) Comunication and Influencing Skills for Managers© using DiSC, Who Moved My Cheese? - in 2008 we launched the "Leading people through change" program (which has already had about 400 participants) and we radically improved our "Time Management - priorities matter". session (based on the philoshophy and instruments supplied by our partner Harold Taylor from Time Consultants Inc and which at the end of 2007 had had about 3000 participants)
7. Participating as speakers at events organized by NGOs has always been a priority for us. Why? Because of the energy and intensity of the ideas you receive when in contact with organizations that keep people connected and involved through the generous non profit causes that they promote. Last year we gladly held sessions at the conferences of organizations such as AIESEC Romania, Leaders Romania, Junior Achievement Romania.The public conferences we had at Top Employers and Training'08 - were excelent opportunities to contribute to the development of a new generation of managers in Romania, people with true leadership abilities.
8. In a year with an extremely intense business rhythm, we afforded the luxury of reorganizing and deeply changing our company. We moved from a project team based organization to a functional structure, better suited for our level of development. The process was rapid and well prepared, and the first results could be seen 9 months after: increased efficiency in every individual, by focusing on a set of very clear priorities; an increase in the role and responsabilities of the management team, by building a new performance indicators measuring system; an increase in the profitability of our company and projects, through a better system of cost control.
9. The internal events we had in 2008 were more valuable than ever and masterfully organized. I consider the traditional autumn "Away Day" a succes due to the agenda, indoor sessions, debates, special guests and the balance between indoor and outdoor activities that made us put business aside for a while and get to know our colleagues better. At the begining of december, the "Strategic meeting" of the management team chalenged a lot of our beliefs, systems and current working processes. Conducted by an international expert, the discussion and decisions we made showed us the signs of a new begining: high, down to earth ambitions; increased responsabilities and a greater clarity of our strategic priorities.
10. How did the initiatives mentioned above influence our key business performance indicators? Our annual turnover reached the sum of 1,4 million E (from 800.000 in 2007); we had a total number of 517 training days; 5864 participants; over 10 experienced trainers in ourteam.
This, in short, was the year 2008 in our view! There are, of course, many stories and memories behind these lines of text, that i tell every time with great pleasure! There was a lot of work, but when i look around, i see people that grew together with the company, became stronger and this gives me a high degree of optimism for 2009!
I wish to thank all our clients (some of them have become close friends) for the way in which they supported us in our effort to have a year full of achievements and made us better at working together in 2009!
